New baby SL: smart roadster
 

My brother took delivery of his new smart roadster today, only the second in the UK, apparently. Certainly I've never seen one before. It is totally cool. It is very nippy (although not fast) and sounds lush, like a little racing car. Under throttle it sounds like a 911; on gear changes you can hear the waste gate chatter. It is equipped with a 600cc 3cylinder turbo motor and a 6-speed sequential box. It is fab. Enjoy.

Presently they are only available with LHD. RHD arrives in October, but the cars will be 3k more expensive then (my brother paid 10k new).

It only has 61bhp. It will pull 60mph in about 13secs. It feels really fast and corners beautifully; as a passenger I can tell it must be brilliant to drive.

Only 61 bhp on a 600 ccm turbocharged engine..!?

Hmm.. I feel a couple of "Bigger turbo + intercooler"-kits coming for this baby. :D
