Got pulled over...

Yesterday I was pulled over by the police several blocks from my house. I was waiting at a red light and across the street on the opposite direction heading towards me was a police officer. As the light turned green... I began to accelerate and noticed the police officer looking straight at me. I still kept on driving. I look at the rear view mirror and he made a U-Turn at an intersection and turned on his lights. Man.. I knew something was not right. I began to think as to what I did wrong???? Cop comes up and tells me I can't have european plates in the front. Well.. I tell him that the digits match EXACTLY to the rear Ohio plates. He says I can't have that.. they must be Ohio. I can't have California plates in front and Ohio in back even if they matched. Hmm.. so I tell him can I just place the Ohio plate on the dash like I see some people do? He says he doesn't recommend it since it could be a danger. He lets me off with a warning but says he will ticket me if he finds me again! Damn... and Ohio got some pretty ugly plates too:( (wish I could have still gotten the old golden plates)

Indiana

Indiana's new plates are terrible. They are a pastel green color. I'm considering getting alumni plates now

LOL, I agree with you. I have noticed the green card with BIG letterings lately on a lot of cars on the roads. WTF? Thank God I still have the older design one. But at least, we don't have front plate to worry about.

One of the FEW advantages of living in Pennsylvania,,,, no plates on the front of the car.:D

ThrillBilly 08-09-2003 09:31 AM

should have explained to officer friendly that your car is a euro.

like... ***** dude, i even have euro air in my tyres!

i got a "state parks" plate, looks better and supports enviro.

keep the football team off your car unless your ****ing the head cheerleader.

Snibble, bolt the Ohio plate to the bottom of the Euro plate. Then you will have satisfied the state requirement of having their plate on the front of your car. I'll be doing this with the Euro 240D once I can get the time to mess with that car.

Diesel Power... I just saw today an old green MG convertible that had euro plates on front and back with Ohio plates bolted on to them. They look a little strange to me... probably something I need to get used to if I want the euro's infront.

About the Indiana plates... I drove to Indianapolis 2 days ago, and I have seen like 4 different Indiana plates. Some of them were pretty nice looking too. However, Ohio's Bicentenial plates are butt-ugly.

Yet another example as to why it sucks drive a nice car in Ohio.

well no offense but ulgy plates have to match an ugly state.

We are required to have both front and back here and some ppl put the euro under the ontario plate.

MD2B 08-10-2003 12:51 AM

why

Why have the euro plate? I don't understand. Why do you need it?

240Demon 08-10-2003 12:56 AM

Oregon is one of those lovely 2 plate states...I only have one on the back and I have never been bothered about it...nor has my buddy who is in the same situation.

DAng snibble my snizzle! I just popped my euro plate back on after a little euro plate hiatus.

How long have you had it on for? Do you drive a lot, so that cops might have seen you many time?

How are cops in Ohio? the types that will nail you for anything like blue blulbs, exhaust etc?

I just had 22% tint put in the front (illegal as hell), put my euro plate back on (just as illegal), but I figured, you only live once, might as well have fun! :D

Oh and I asked my friend who is a Sgt. w/ the local PD about me having euro plate w/ the same # i've got and whether or not i'd get grief from his PD and he said "shoot, I don't care man, it's cool w/ me. But .. I dunno if I would do it, but it's fine to me.

lol. He himself doesnt even have a plate on his car.

Virginia has a ton of license plate types. I'll have to get over to the local DMV and take a pic of all the different types. Some are plain, some are really fancy. The most popular university plate in Va. is Penn State. Go figure! (So I've heard)
