October 1 is the day!!!! (Peace Corps)
 

Well, I finally received and accepted my Peace Corps invitation. I'm going to LA for a brief orientation on October 1, then on October 4 I fly to my soon to be new home in Vanuatu. It is an island in the south Pacific between Australia and Fiji. I will be teaching science to high school aged kids. My actual service starts after I finish training in December.

I am excited, but a little nervous about getting my affairs in order since I am leaving so incredibly soon. There are so many people I will miss, but I'm pretty sure the experience will be more than worth the effort.

Congrats Ben! Hope it's a good experience for you. (And try not to catch some wierd tropical disease;) )

That's actually a bit of a difficult assignment. That part of the world has a lot more problems than we generally realize.
