Kalifornia

I absolutely want Democrat Cruz Bustamante to win the election in California . Bustamante's solution to the current California budget crisis is to RAISE taxes ...on the RICH, of course! The "evil, hated, wicked, nasty, crooked rich." This is basic Democratic Party mantra.

Republican candidate Peter Ueberroth has some interesting statistics for those of you who think this "tax the rich" thing is such a good idea. In 2001 there were 44,000 taxpayers in California reporting incomes of $1,000,000 or more. One year later there are only 29,000. In 2000 millionaires paid $15 billion in California income taxes. That was 37% of the total amount of state income tax paid by all Californians. One year later this figure was cut almost in HALF!!!...down to $8 billion or 25% of total state income taxes paid. Some of this is due to reduced incomes for some high-achievers in the current economy, but that's not all....the evidence is clear. Wealthy Californians are voting with MOVING VANS! They're leaving. They're leaving for greener pastures where their businesses aren't so over-regulated, where they can actually afford worker's compensation insurance, where they don't have to pay employees not to work, and where they can keep more of the money they earn.

Just a few years ago Democrats were telling the rest of the country "Watch California ! We're in charge out there. We have the legislature, the Governor's office, and the two U.S. Senators. Watch what we can do! See how good things can be with Democrats in control!"

Fine. They're in control, and California is in the tank! Businesses are packing up and leaving to escape high taxes and oppressive regulation. Spending is out of control. Utility prices, anyone?... Illegal aliens are voting by the thousands and, in some cases, actually controlling local elections. Cars that manufacturers can sell in other states cannot be sold in CA because of misguided and over-restrictive regulations, and other misled states are following suit. This is what Democrats have brought California . Now let's watch them try to fix things up. Californians made this bed, let them lie in it a bit longer.

I believe any democrat entering Kalifornia should be barred from leaving. If Democrats want Kalifornia to be an example for the rest of this country, I belive they should be forced to live there for at least 5 years as "rich". That would cure about 50% of democrats of being, well, a democrat. then we will put cameras on the streets and have a continuous living exhibition touring the US: "Life Under Liberals".
Hmm.., can we make money off of that?

Okay, my dear M-Shop friend, I'll take the bait

I'm a Californian, I ride the Elephant, and I VOTE!

Don't give up on us so quickly, for we will once again be one of the leading States in our Country. I've visited, traveled through, or worked in about half of our States, and at the end of the day, I will always seek the sun setting in the West. I do care for the other States, but this is home, and I will fight for her, I will help her improve, and I will protect her from the Jackasses that are currently leading her.

Okay, I feel better now.

Ann Coulter on California recall:

SPEAKING AT the University of California in Los Angeles this week, California Gov. Gray Davis admitted he had made some mistakes and called the recall effort a "right-wing power grab." I guess Bill Clinton really is advising him. Proving Davis' "right-wing power grab" theory, the two men who are currently most likely to replace him are a tax-and-spend liberal who supports abortion and a tax-and-spend liberal who supports abortion.

One is Cruz Bustamante, Davis' lieutenant governor, who has displayed the Democrats' renowned tolerance and commitment to civil rights the Bob Byrd way – by using the n-word at a dinner celebrating Black History month. (You'd think the California Democrats could come up with a standard bearer to replace Davis who manages to avoid using racial slurs at a public gathering to celebrate black achievements.)

The other is Arnold Schwarzenegger, who quickly brought billionaire investor Warren Buffett on board as an adviser. Moments later, Buffett announced his enthusiasm for repealing Proposition 13 and raising taxes. In addition to high taxes, Buffett's other passion is abortion, proving once again that no one understands the little guy like a multi-billionaire.

I'm with you concerning Arnold, botnst. At first I though it was great. Arnold, a man who was self made, came to this land of opportunity and took advantage of the way this great country works to be very successful.
He calls himself a conservative but almost none of his speeches are. The biggest screw up that almost no one challenged was that he was going to keep all taxes and programs in effect and lure back all the businesses that left the state. Talk about not having a grasp on why they left in the first place. Maybe he has been in that pearl tower with Buffett too long.

Thanks, bro...I miss you guys! I've been pretty damn busy with the band for a few months, but I try to get in a jab or two here every now and then. I'm home now for a week or so, so you'll be hearing some new rants from me, I'm sure.

Mike
