John Mayer

Who here is a fan of the artist John Mayer?

I just went yesterday and bought his "any given thursday" CD which is his recorded concert. I also have "room for squares".

He aint as popular in Canada as he is in the States but this to me is truly "benz music".

Just wanted to know who else is a big fan?

Sorry, but if I hear one more time about how John Mayer wants "to run through the halls of [his] high school," I will light my hair on fire

He's OK...

I saw him live in Seattle last year. A lot of his show banter consisted of him whining about how much sex he didn't get in high school "I could have been at my senior prom, in coitus" and revelling in the attention of late HS/early college years girls. Definitely a certain type of young woman who ends up being a John Mayer fan, imho.

I didn't think so either...I can't carry a tune (but play 9 instruments, go figure), so I would love to sing to my wife like him.

Don't get me wrong; the man is talented.

I had a job a few months ago where I was held captive to this one certain radio station. It was one of those hideous Top-40 type stations, and they played that high school song at least five times during the course of my workday. I wanted to strangle John Mayer, though it was no fault of his own...

You see here in Canada here is not as popular on the radio for some reason. When I listen to the US stations he is more popular and repetitive on the stations.

rickg -- me neither

(I HATE top 40 radio....and NYC seems to have too much of it! Lou Reed never could have written Walk on the Wild Side if he had had to listen to Infinity Broadcasting and Clear Channel. )
