What car is the most FUN?

What car that you have driven was the most fun? To me it's the Subaru WRX I drove one today and still get the jitters from 0-80 you feel like you’re in a Ferrari. The handling, braking and steering and ergonomics rival’s cars 10X its price tag IMO.

Ha, back when I was skiing in high school one of my teammates had a beige 240d which we used to learn power slides on icy streets after practice. Pushing it out snow banks was equally as fun.
The sound of that diesel revving on a cool winter night is second to none............................ if you’re a turtle.

Any convertible that is payed for and NEVER goes into the shop.

Other wise a Porsche 911 or Boxter. Have test driven both and really loved playing with them. But I wouldn't buy one.

I would say I really enjoy the 560SL.

Sorry, but have to make a short list.

Not in order:

Datsun 510 with twin cam head and skinny snow tires on the Ice Highway from Inuvik to Tuktoyatuk. Were we ever straight? Full lock at 70mph for two hours.

79 Camaro "Sport Coupe" with 355ci roller-motor, NO2, Herb Adams suspension and 1LE brakes. 0-100mph in 11 secs and the ability to chase a Porsche down a mountain road.

The reason I posted this is since the Ferrari has a new stable I have been relieved. I never really got to enjoy the car, the fear I had in parking lots and driving by police stations was crazy. Whenever a kid in the neighborhood came by to see the car I had to leap to the door to make sure their schwinn didn't mate with my paint job.

I had a totally different sense in the WRX probably because my retirement didn't depend on it.

I'd have to say I enjoy driving my 300TDT more than anything.

Let me explain why. It is fun to push the limits. On your stereotypical fun cars like a Porsche or even a Subaru, they are so fast, capable, and competent, that you can NEVER really max them out. There's always more left. Where's the fun in that?

But yes, I do believe that Porsche's and BMW's are fun.

A 1970 toronado GT on a snowy mountain road.(back in my maniac ski instructor days)
Otherwise my old 67 911 on the race track with the vintage race club in colorado.
My well worn in 300K+ 300dt is also very pleasant highway machine is also one of my favorites.
If I could have 2 diesel benzs I would also get a 240D with a manual trany. I drove one years ago and liked it alot.

1963 jag xke coupe - if: 1) it was 55 degrees (colder and it wouldn't start, hotter and it would over heat) and, 2) it wasn't raining (always get it hot before hitting the first puddle and be prepared to wait while it dried out), and 3) the triple SU's were actually correctly balanced.

Just drove an Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe... now that is a fun car! Makes my E420 feel like an oil tanker.

The free revving motor (doesn't sound as sweet as the M119 though ), the light but SOLID feel to the car, comfortable ride, great steering....and boy.. I never got that much attention driving anything :p hehe

the sound of the twin spark... the super close ratio steering, the pinpoint handling... WOW

the merc is only fun when pushing it too far into corners (i.e. on oversteer) and in the real world, how often is that?
normally its v. boring IMO

My 2003 MINI Cooper S is a BLAST to drive....... It feels like you are riding on rails and the 6 speed tranny is a pleasure to work. However, the most relaxing and enjoyable ride is my SL. My Porsches were all excellent, but I always had to watch for the rear end bite!

Mine was a friend's Renault R5 Turbo along time ago. I still wish that I had a opportunity to buy one. But at the time all I can afford that kinda IMO looked like a R5 Turbo was a Toyota FX-16 GTS which I still have in the garage.

Just a picture..not he one I drove and fell in love.
