Peace and quiet not an American right

A judge today has ruled against the implementation of the national "do not call" list, infuriating millions of Americans who were seeking a measure of protection from the scourge of telemarketers. I was so looking forward to some peace and quiet in the confines of my own home. What's next -- a ruling that it's unconstitutional to deny termites access to their favorite food source? (Sorry -- I don't mean to offend termites with this analogy).

That judge should be hung by his testicles if he has any.
Just do what I do, use your answering machine to screen calls or better yet don't answer the phone when you don't want to.
Or best yet...just sit in front of your computer dialed in on the Internet like I am most evenings.
Get that judge's telphone number and the next time you get one of those telemarketers calls, tell them to call you back at his number!

It was reported that an irate citizen got ahold of the judge's personal phone number and posted it on the Internet today. It was available for about an hour before it was taken down. I applaud the effort!

An excerpt from Foxnews:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,98189,00.html

"This is the goofiest decision that I've seen in a long time," said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. "There is no question that Congress intended for the FTC to have this authority and will quickly make any correction that the court, in its arcane logic, deems necessary."

Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., added, "If this decision is not reversed quickly, I suspect the courthouse in Oklahoma would want to add itself to the do-not-call database in order to protect itself from the millions of consumers who feel deeply about the right to be left alone."

"Goofy" is being nice about it
