W140 seat control details
Is there a reason that someone in a front seat of a W140 sedan can't see the power seat controls? Is it on purpose or a design flaw?

The W126 and W220's are on the door. I would imagine the W140's would be there also. Very few cars have them on the doors so some people probably just don't notice them. Hyundai and Infiniti also have them on there doors now.

They are on the doors, but are somehow blocked by the grab handles. The M-Class (with power seats) have the controls on the bottom, and so do the new C-Class models that have half powered, half manual seats. (Models with fully powered seats have the controls on the door).
Speaking of the M-Class, I found it strange that the headlight switch was on the steering column, and that the ignition key goes into the side of the steering column, not in the dash. Two VERY un-Mercedes like "features".

Just what speedy said. When I'm in either front seat with my back upright, I can't see the switches. I have to count buttons for the memory or feel the outline to adjust. There's a very pretty outline illumination for the switches but it's wasted since you can't see it.
