anyone else weary of applying MS security patches?

if he was here, i would smash billy-boy gates right in the mouth.

i just read latest MS security bulletin issued today indicating at least 4 critical patches required for XP to prevent unauthorized remote users from executing code on my machine.

damn it jim, im a user not an adminstrator! :(

although my machine is NOT infected, im still receiving several virus infected emails daily that my ISP refuses to stop on their end and instead continues to happily forward on to me for my enjoyment, and suggest i get AV software. i calmly explain that my prob is NOT an infection, but their (earthling/mindspring) refusal to stop the likely millions of virus infected emails passing thru their servers daily from reaching us weary users.

anyone else here almost blue in the face? :(

Yep! There's always going to be hackers out there finding ways around things, so there will be occasions where such updates are unavoidable, but if they would spend a little more time refining their products before rushing them to matket, it would be nice eh?

I get more junk mail every day than regular mail...It gets pretty tiresome. My virus software always catches the bad guys, but I have a feeling one will slip thru eventually.

Blue in the Face? HEY, that reminds me of something...I can't place it....ummm...Oh, yeah! It reminds me of THIS! :D

Blue in the Face

Sorry...couldn't resist. ;)

Buy Linux. Buy Macintosh. Both have better security and less viral infections.

A Mac iBook will be my next laptop, for sure. Hopefully the big 17"-screen one! :D
