anyone know about HEATED seats?

I am installing heating elements and switches into my wagon. I know you have to sew the heating element into the horsehair pad. I am just not sure which way and where to lay the element. Does anyone know?

I have posted pictures of the two ways I thought it could be done. The first, seems the most logical to me.
