Where I spent most of Sunday...

I was high! About 10,000 feet or so. The reason for the "stern" expression was that my boot heel is about a foot from the edge of a cliff with about 1000' of vertical exposure and there is a 90km/h wind trying to blow me off.

This is the way up. The last 1000' or so was pretty steep. Must use safety gear. I was glad to get to the top and cook lunch.

Here's the flat spot on the top ridge where we made lunch. Notice the nice stand of trees (lol) where you can grab some shelter to light your stove.

Is there a peak registry underneath that pile of rocks you're sitting on John?

The view from the top. Just don't wander off while looking through your view-finder...

Nope. Un-named ones generally don't attract much attention other than a cairn like that one. Suprised at the size of it, actually. If enough people climb 'er then maybe she'll get a name.

This is the mountain "one over." The weather started to come ripping in, and we had to make haste to get down. This might be our next "target." The slope looks challenging.

This stand of teeny trees knocked me out. We'd been climbing above the treeline for some time, and on the top we find these hardy little buggers! Despite their small size, they must be very old given the environment.
