margarita receipes, and good sipping ta-kill-ya?
any good margarita receipes not utilizing premade mixes to use with a common tequila like cuervo? rocks, not frozen!
also, need a recommendation on a decent sipping/shooting tequila. something better than than the usual suspects, but not like $100! something uncommon and better for damn good friends in the $40-50 range. |

Well, I'm not much of a Tequila expert, but last month in Cozumel we were sipping Patron. Don't know what it costs in the 'states, or even if it's available here. About 350 pesos there - call it 35 bucks, and very nice.
Favorite Margarita recipe: Shot and a half fresh squeezed lime juice. Shot and a half tequila. Half shot Grand Marnier. Touch of sugar, depending on how tart you like it - call it half a teaspoon to start. Shake with mucho crushed ice, strain into a salt rimmed glass. Chill the glass for straight up, or serve over an ice cube or two. Mercedes content: I can't drive one after two of these. - JimY |

i was last south-o-the-border about 2 years ago in juarez (el paso).
1 liter of cuervo and 1L of kahlua was less than $15 for both. my bags were heavy upon return! :p i also like the addition of the GM or cointreau (sp?). |
