Angry i HATE loud systems coupled with inconsiderate people

So my alarm is set off almost every day by *******s pumping their system in the parking garage. They do it on purpose to set off everyones alarm as they go by, why?? Are they that egotisitcal that they need to show other people that "Hey, i'm a jerk with a loud system, i can make your car make noise all on it's own". I finally got my word in with one of these jerks tonight. This guy comes flying up the parking garage, slamming his system at 1am, setting off mine and many other peoples alarms. I was accross the garage looking at a friends jeep, he parked fairly close to me so i went over, turned off my alarm, and then said "must you do that man". He was like "what?", and i simply said "you know your system sets off every alarm in here, do you really need to slam your system on the way up here?". He basically told me to f-off, so I very irritatedly said(i had a few large friends with me), "dude, quit being an A$$, you know what your doing, your doing it on purpose, and it annoys the crap out of me and everyone else"(try working on a car with ten car alarms going off, not fun). I saw him leave about an hour later and his system was not on.....heh.....small win for me. But seriously? why do idiots do that? its so inconsiderate. Thanks for letting me vent....... People also rev their engines on purpose to set off alarms, its so irritating!!!!!! Ok i'm done, i know its not a big deal, just a minor daily annoyance, but it got to me tonight.
Ryan

Then there's the reverse...

Remember those annoying "talking" car alarms?

Years ago, some guy had one of those installed in his car and was a tenant at the complex my wife (then girlfriend) lived in. He had the sensitivity set to "max" (or so it seemed).

That stupid voice would announce itself every two minutes on windy days...a leaf would set it off!

Back in the neighborhood where we bought our first home, there was a guy who mounted his house alarm horn outside, and at least twice a month, someone would inadvertently set the damn thing off and it would wail for nearly an hour (of course between the hours of 11PM and 3AM)!

My MB has a aftermarket alarm and eventually something went wrong with it and would go off while driving over a large bump.

I worked with a guy that had an alarm, and used to park next to me. My car doesn't have an award winning system, but has decent bass. I used to love to set off his alarm at the end of the day if I got out to my car before he did
But, yeah. I always have the courtesy to turn down my stereo if I'm near anybody it'll irratate. Especially at stop lights. I hate those idiots that'll sit there at a stop light and get a kick out of irratating everybody around them with their loud thump-thump.

What exactly do you classify as a "ricer"?

ooh... guess I hit a nerve... I notice you have an integra in your profile, but I'm not generalizing you as a ricer for having one. By ricer, I mean generally cheap cars that people try to make better by adding rediculous mods that don't do much of anything. It doesn't have to be a japanese car, I've seen some "ricer" ford foci (? focuses?). A lot of times, these cars have rediculously sensitive alarms that can be set off just by closing your car door (especially when it's heavy as steel), and I've set off many an alarm just by closing my door. As for your integra, I'm sure it would be the pants off my car, and many others (especially since it's a 5 spd). Remember, in no way am I calling you a ricer!

here's an example of a ricer. those are special "towel holder-style" hoodpins, only used on high performance racecars.

note that this time the riced out car is not japanese, but is still in my mind a ricer.

ok thats fine, you can call those cars ricers all you want, in fact i'll chime in and join you. But also please understand that you can modify an import car the correct way, make it look very clean, and also significantly increase power as well. Like anything, you just have to decide what you want to do, and do it right. I personally plan on doing headers and a catback exhaust system on my integra. Granted, i will have a very stock looking muffler, and my intake will also be a very quiet intake. But i can guarantee, that when i hit WOT, someone will say "look at that ricer go", especially if i put more agressive cams and cam gears in. Yeah, i guess it is a sensitive subject for me, i hate being classified as a "fast and the furious ricer" because i drive a fun little import. Not saying thats what you were doing, just explaining why its a touchy topic.
