anyone tried yahoo's pop-up blocker?
I noticed that yahoo is offering a beta version of a pop-up blocker with yahoo companion. Has anyone tried it?

Just use Mozilla. Pop up problem solved!

I'm using it now on one of my home machine. It works. I think the Google blocker is better because it's easy to allow pop-ups from the sites you want to. I sent Yahoo a comment about it so hopefully they'll make the change. :)

I don't trust anything Yahoo does anymore. Not since I joined up for their discussion forums last year and started getting spam the very next day. They will state one thing but say another. Gee, I wonder if there's Spyware in that pop-up blocker. Hence, my apprehension pertaining to anything Yahoo......or as I call them, Yahooligans! The best pop-up stopper I've used is Pop-Up Stopper Pro.

Both Mozilla and Firebird have everything I need for blocking pop-up garbage, including the capability to allow them from certain sites (i never do, though).
Funny you mentioned the flood of spam, TonySz. I got exactly the same thing after signing up for Chase's online stuff. I closed that card account soon afterwards even though they never fessed up to it (i sent repeated e-mails asking about it and they always slung fertilizer back at me, yet the spam mysteriously went away after the account was closed, though...) |
I use a program called popupcop...works well...
