Maserati or 456M

Don't flame me because the SL, CL doesn't do it for me, I'm debating between a used Ferrari 456M or Maserati. I need the rear seat for the little one and the performance of both is similar and I can have either for sub 100K. The benefits of the Maserati is a 3 year warranty and the proven 360/420 engine. On the other hand the 456M is a monster of a car for the money and I can fulfill my 12 cylinder Ferrari dream. I have a friend that owns a 456 and drives it through the rain sleet mud snow and swears its the greatest car ever made, a family cruiser and track car all in one.

I added a special response for the non-achievers.

Actually Maserati has the entire dealer network of Ferrari and then some, I also love the MB like interior with GPS and other goodies. The Ferrari will need some very expensive service every 15K which will add up because it will be my daily driver.

Absent that, I would lean toward the Ferrari for stronger resale and a more comprehensive dealer/parts/aftermarket network.
I love Porsche but after owning a Ferrari everything just seems to ordinary to ME. Keep in mind I don't care what others think about the car I just love to be in the car. If the Ferrari looked like a cardboard box I would drive it, the song of the engine plays in my mind even while I sleep.

Jeff - you gotta be s(^&&^(g me

go with the Ferrari bro. Based on the video you showed me the Maserati just ain't the same. It is my opinion that the Ferrari will hold it's value alot better than the Mas - this is especially important when raising a family.

The Maserari is very Modena like while the 456 is very refined. I do agree with teh resale part but I plan on driving the hell out of it. The Maserati warranty helps with that portion. My wife also approves of the 456 and as you know she didn't like the Modena too much.

As far as resale goes I'm not very concerned because I plan on driving the beast into the ground. I spent way to amny hours looking at the weather to see if it was Ok to drive my 401k, this time around I want to have fun.

BTW My wife made a Chachalte Chip Pecan cookie cake with the pecans you brought us and they were AWESOME.l

So I was checking out Ferrari's Website and noticed they have a range of models. Just in case I hit the lotto, can you tell me which one works best as a business/commuter car?

My favorite has always been the Daytona Spider but keep in mind I am probably 15 yrs older than MecMech but don't hold that against me.

Jeff - you are a Ferrari man and would be NUTS to even consider a Mas.

It depends, the 456 or 612 is great for a family with 2 vertically challenged, the 575 is a great GT for 2 and the 360 is like a hockey skate for the road.

Yep, 456. It has the look of the old Daytona, unmistakably Ferrari. First impression of the Maser is that it looks like a 2 door Ford Taurus.

Funny, but I saw this used Maserati 228 Biturbo (Coupe) recently, and I'm really having a hard time not to trade my MB in for this model. It's has a wonderful '90s design, a sumptuous interior for four passengers, and loads of HP. Even the brandname is enough to fall for it. Maintenance is horrendous, but its Italian style is unique, nothing else like it.
Missus' against it though, so have to keep on dreaming... [sigh]
