Pass the glass, please!:p

I don't understand such thinking AT ALL. No one is forced to read any post on the open forum that is too "crazy" for their delicate sensibilities.

If something bothers them, why can't they just not read it? Why leave completely? I just don't understand why people have to make it out to be such a dramatic, all-or-nothing issue.

Nothing dramatic about it. This person just quietly slipped away. Nothing wrong with that. I guess it got to where too many of the threads didn't agree with this person, so there it is. Heck, if I walk into a room, and too many people aren't "my type", I don't hang around either. Nothing about being too sensitive.
That "Too sensitive" thing gets thrown arround an aweful lot here, BTW. Gotta realize not everyone appreciates agressive assertiveness. They aren't too sensitive. It's just not their way, that's all.

Why expect people to change their core beliefs because of clever online arguments?

Deep, meaningful, important discussion/argument should strike people to the core. That's the point. Sharpen a carving knife with steel.

One of the many admirable attributes of your parliamentary system is when the PM faces Commons for a weekly grilling. I doubt more than a handful of our elected government could stand for questioning as have your PM's. Sure, a lot of BS and posturing goes on. But that to, is part of the political art of persuasion and leadership.

Its like a vivisection of government. It ain't pretty and few minds are changed. But we learn, if we choose to listen.

Have you forgotten so soon our perpetually glorious struggle in the "war against terrorism"? For shame.

Yeh, well put:D
But, heck, some people like that. No! Really!

Now I understand. Canada is a far more civilized place. I'm surprised that as many Canadians can stand hanging around as do. I suspect they look at us as living in a 'state of nature.'

Their canoeing boards are quite lively however.

Alright guys. I wasn't trying to get a Canada-bash fest going.:D
I don't think the atmoshpere of MBCanad had anything to do with what country it was in. That's just the way it was. We had people from all over the place, same as here. Just a different group.

Oh, forget it. This has excercise has fallen on deaf ears anyway. :p

The same way you decide which articles you want to read in a magazine -- by titles and quick content scans. If a subject doesn't interest you, move on. If most articles don't interest you, I guess you cancel your subscription...

Well, you have several choices:

1. Burn the publisher to the ground

2. Assasinate the author

3. Let your favorit wrappa's take care of the problem for you

4. Put the offending pages in the bottom of your bird cage

5. Rethink your position and agree with the author, envisioning a scenario where you actually become president of their fan clubs

6. Flame the publication and/or the author on the Internet

7. Cancel your subscription

8. Disagree with the idiot and move on
