And the most admired woman in the US is...

The other day I saw that there was a poll about who the most admired men and women were in the United States. George W. Bush didn't surprise me too much that he was the most admired man but seeing that Hillary Clinton was at the top of the women's list made me cringe. What kind of people do you suppose were asked? None of us I'm sure!
I bet none of us got to vote on this so let's have our own poll.
Who, in your opinion, is be the most admired woman? If this thread is successful enough, I'll then put up our own poll and we can then vote and decide for ourselves who will be the most admired woman in the US.

Oprah, haha, just kidding.

Martha Stewart or Diane Sawyer, I think.

All I can do is sit and shake my head. I don't know why Hillery is supposed to be so damned popular. No one here seems to care for her, no one I know cares for her, and I never seem to hear much positive about her on the news. Who the heck is voting for her? Who's getting paid off to stuff the ballot boxes?

Whew! I feel better now.

Lessee. My most admired woman.....
NOT Oprah. Her popularity way out stretches her actual value IMHO. And Martha Stewart puts me to sleep.
"And then you put the plant in this delightful ceramic vase." Yawn.
How about Barbara Walters?
I may change this later. I'm really drawing a blank right now.

Hi Rick- I would presume that it is the same people that that were polled and picked GW. I am not at all a fan of GW but hey, at one point in his life he was getting a DUI (or something like that) and now he is President. I can admire that without agreeing with any of his politics.

"Paris Hilton" has another accomplishment to add to her growing resume' . . . she now has the #1 "fake name" used when ordering a pizza delivery from Pizza Hut.

and now for something completely different . . . People who greet the pizza guy in the nude give an average 20% tip, while people in pajamas are much lower.

Wait a minute!!

Hillary is a woman ?!?

I''ll have to think about who I think would get my vote. If it's worldwide and includes people that have passed not too long ago it would be Mother Theresa hands down.

I bet Hillary likes this poll. When she runs for President in 2008, she will need all the support she can get. I pray she doesn't win. She can do a lot of damage to our country if she does.

I'll accept Paglia (not my choice mind you), since I prefer iconoclasts, but Thatcher's just too repugnant. Are there any other famous libertarian women?

George W. Bush has done a lot for this country. I am tired of people saying he is a bad president. Who cares if he had a DUI? Clinton and all of the others have done their fair share of bad things. What has he done wrong, and DO NOT say anything about this war, because it REALLY needed to happen, and he executed it perfectly?

And the most admired woman in the US is...

How about Elizbeth Dole and Madeline Albright ? They have both served our country well.
