What are your three favorite sport sedans?

My three favorite sport sedans include the following:

BMW E34 (89-05) M5

MB W124 500E/E500

Jaguar X350 (X350 is the new XJ) XJR

My dad sold this 1993 BMW M5 in January, 2003. It was an amazing car. The leather smelled like new. It would actually smell better if the car was parked for a few days! The S38 engine was incredible. It had around 39,000 miles when these pictures were taken. It was sold to a man who drives it only on nice days and takes great care of it. E34 M5s were hand-built at the BMW Motorsport (renamed BMW M in 92 or 93) factory in Germany.

But I dont realy like sedans that much. The S600 140 would be there, especially the short wheel base but I dont think its exactly sport sedan.

Three? Breakin' the rules...

Not in order.

1995-1997 (97 the best) Mercedes C36AMG. Sleeper rating: 10. This car is not the fastest of the dogs on the block, but is well made, sized right, and handles better than any sedan with a decent ride should.

E39 BMW M5. Too heavy, too much understeer, too much MSRP, but so what? It still hands out ass-kickings without problem and rates an 8 on the sleeper scale.

WRX Sti. The sleeper rating is only 2, but so what? This car seats four (eight if you're hauling Micheal Jackson wannabes) and rips Porsche drivers new orifices.

Mercedes E55-K. 0-60 in 4.2? In a 4200lb four door? The laws of physics are being bent by AMG. In Thrust we Trust.

Audi RS6. 450hp? WAGON? AWD? The MSRP is too high, but the car is outstanding. Sleeper rating 11!

W220 2002+ Mercedes S600. Twin turbo V12 is the most outrageous driveline installed in anything that isn't Ferrari-knee-high-to-a-kindergartener.

Mercedes W124 E500. Heritage counts, baby. The E500 still brings lots of performance to the table and can run with most modern sedans. Shocking for such an old design. Stealth-fighter rating 11. This thing is off the radar scopes until it's taillights are fading.

Anyone drive the 1988 BMW M3? The four cylinder offers less power than new 3-series, but that original M3 is SWEET. The engine makes race car sounds, the handling is race car superb and the ride streetable. Only a two door and the fender bulges and wing are giveaways, but it's an amazing car that was 10 years ahead of it's time.

W203 C230 Kompressor 4 door -- for the money and the way the car drives for a 4 cylinder this is a bargain. The rims it comes with are just amazing.

W203 C32 ///AMG --- an M3..pfft...why bother with that. Besides this car outperformed it.. it looks amazing, the power youre getting out of a handcrafted engine is unreal, let alone its in a C- class which to me is not bottom of the line anymore these days!

The new E55 -- unleash the beast....this has to be the best sport sedan out there.

Favorite Sport Sedans...

Mercedes W201 190E 2.3-16 (see sig)
Mercedes W124 E500 (big surprise, right?)
BMW E39 M5, I love the E34 M5 engine (but not the front-end styling), however, the E39 is just SOOOO much more in every way.

Any of the AMG sedans...

I like the new S55 myself or the Audi S8. The Merc smaokes it, but the quattro drivetrain just makes it amazing. I like the new RS6 as well....hehehe, what a dangerous car!!!!

You know, these new mega-sedans seem to be getting more and more like exotics!! I personally like the sport sedan thing and it's GREAT to see such a rennaisance of high power 4 door slammers. It's about damn time!!!!

My favorites are

2000-2001 Audi S4
1984 280E (hey, it was sporty for 1984!)
1999-2000 C230 Sport (good sound, good value, one of the last built-to-quality not to a price point M-Bs)
