sorry...bmw question

the battery on my 735i has died and the car is locked. it's a 1988 model. is there any possible way that i can get into the car. since the battery is dead the electronic locks don't work. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Go to the passenger side, lift the door handle and then open the door with the key.

i have an 89 535i, basically the same car as yours and even if the battery is dead I can still open the door with the key. your locks might be de-sychronized and if you go to www.bmwe34.net it will show you how to fix that.

735 door locks

try this, jack the car up and put a battery charger on the starter solenoid, positive, of course. the neg goes to a good ground. this will charge the battery and then the locks will operate normally, provided nothing else is wrong. good luck, chuck.

Thanks everyone for your help. I was able to open the passenger side door after messing w/ it for about an hour.
