Worst Subject
What was your worst subject in high school and would you be any better at it today then you were then? What year did you graduate?
My worst subject was Greek. I failed it and had to take a special repeat course with two other classmates, so 3 out of 7 failed. I don't think I'd do much better these days because I just don't have the patience for looking up every other word in a sentence and then deciding which one of the 7 translations is most appropriate. |

my worst subject was english. I never read the books so I made up my own stories as best I could.
I always have had a difficulty with spelling and reading novels. I get fatigued reading all that stuff and loose interest. Math was the same, I would not do my homework but would ace the test so it balanced out. Science for me was a hobby anyway. It was as if I knew most of it all already. I had a real aptitude for it. However, High school and college are alot different. I just wish that young people would not limit their potentials by making assumptions about their worth and abilities based on the adolescent mind. Most of the fifteen year olds I know I would not trust mowing my lawn let alone foresee their future. A simple budhist proverb Live life as if you died already (each day is a gift) Learn as if you will live forever I hope that I can still learn I hope that I can fix my car. bob c |

My single worst subject has always been math. I can do the basics, plus some algebra, but was never able to get beyond that...I tried statistics, geometry (got the basic concepts but little more), and while I was able to pass, I don't think I really got anything from those classes. I took trig once and had to drop the class (my books and notes being stolen, leaving a job, and my favorite uncle suddenly dying played a major role there)...
Science has been little better...I did decently in biology and basic physics, but chemistry almost killed me. However, chemistry's a "family curse", so I don't feel too awful about that. I've always done fairly well in English...not stellar, but decent. History...well, I've been doing well, and I got enough of an interest in the subject that I'm majoring in it now. |

Worst subject?
Physical Education! Make a mental picture of a short scrawny zit-faced frosh... :p Still get nightmares about that rope! But "Revenge of the Nerds" is alive! Those cohorts have aged to become 40-ish bald, rotund masses of lard, while I am at a trim fighting weight of 155 (and grew considerably since then) and generally mop guys like that up on the court and in the field. And to top it off, I DID marry the cheerleader, and my daughter is an UBER-athlete!

Hey, a good friend of mine went to St. Albans too. One of his classmates was Jessie Jackson Jr.
My worst subject was Latin...I suspect the instructor was a pedophile. Always talking about his famous Latin sleepovers--whuda creep. |

Worst-english and history.
Usually did ok in english, although by high school I didn't see the use of it. Still don't. One reason I never went to collage. Didn't want to spend another 2 to 4 years taking a bunch of stupid courses I didn't want. I failed 1st semester of history in my junior year. Had a very different teacher, who I thought I didn't like. Very tough. For example we had to copy down 2 full chalk boards of notes, while listening to her lecture. Talk about multi-tasking! But by the end of the year, I really liked her, and requested her for both my senior history class, plus my make-up semester of junior history. She 's the one I now credit for making me an arm-chair historian. I love it now, and would love to make it my career if I could figure out a way to do it, and make any kind of a living. Oh, graduated class of '74
