Frankly, I'm just sick and tired of the ad's and virus's that target windoze, I like the OS but using it is like putting a target on your back.
The only product out there that "might" be better for the application is MAC. I think if MAC got the market share that M$ has you would be singing the same tune...for that matter any OS. The fact of the matter is we are married to Windows from an industry perspective.

I love the people who say "If everyone used Linux we wouldn't be having these problems". I feel the problem would be far worse. Joe Average can't even patch a Windows box, do you think he/she could keep up with a Linux box? A compromised Linux box is far more dangerous. I find comfort in knowing my Linux box isn't the target of every script kiddie on the planet.

Just my $.02

Talking and another good item about Mozilla 1.6

it will NOT let spyware attach to your computer, I have tested it, if I surf with Windows, I get spyware , if I use Mozilla I dont...

also there is this:

Trying Mozilla's "Camino"

So far it seems pretty stable--no crashes and nothing unexpected. It blocks pop-ups. It seems slower than OS-X's "Safari" which is a small, agile program and far, far better than Navigator or Explorer.

I'll run it a few days and see how it acts.

Kids! They just don't change do they? It was the same in school. Some kids who shall remain nameless partitioned hd's in the school library, installed linux .99a and ran their own warez servers. Even had TinyX installed on some of the machines. Sure was fun.

i tried mozilla but it was a tad unstable with xp.

my son's computer had a huge amount of spyware running xp pro and IE6.
took me a whole afternoon and 4 antispyware programs to clean it
since then not one bluescreeen crash..
there was about 1/2 a gig in dump files i had to delete as well..

I had one problem with the install I think it was the way xp handles unzipping.

try unzipping it into specified location. When prompted to unzip click creat new folder.

Make sure you get the TabBrowser preference plug-in it's pretty cool.

Since you created another directory, while installing flash you will also need to point it to you firebird directory.

The Thunderbird email client is also very nice.

Thumbs up

Just installed FireFox, very fast! The only thing I'm pissed about is I have been fighting spyware, pop-ups and adware for months spent $$$ on software to counter it and all I needed was a open source free browser.
