http://mercedes-benz-usa.com/?

This site http://mercedes-benz-usa.com/ came up on another BBS that I read. I haven't seen this link posted before, any thoughts on this?

I'm thinking about upgrading to a newer MB in the future and now I wondering. And I do realize that only those with problems have posted to this BBS, that those without problems don't weigh in. Maybe I should just get a Honda or Toyota.

Finally I'm surprised that MB doesn't sue the site owner's pants off for copyright/trademark violation.

Unhappy just plain fear of media attention.

Hello chuck95e300d
MB USA is aware of this site.
I would guess that just plain fear of media attention is what is stopping them.
"Fortune Magazine Features This Website", and they do good research before they publish.
Would you help advertise this website; if you where running MB USA?

Remarkable the amount of passion/devotion being burned will inspire

I think it is an interesting decision that MB is making. A while back Porsche went after everyone with legal threats. I think they did this to protect their copyright....if you don't then it risks becoming generic. I didn't go to law school obviously but I think there are risks to MB for not taking action. It's too bad that MB is getting dragged through the mud on this, only one side of the story is presented. I think that the other thing some folks fail to recognize is that cars must be maintained. They are complicated machines that perform in harsh environments. I just did the brakes on my car...expensive job...and not MB's fault, parts wear and need to be maintained. But with the job done I know the car will stop everytime I ask it too. From my understanding braking is an important function of the car so I had to spend the money to maintain it!

Get a Honda or Toyota, you'll be a lot happier. Been there done that with a new MB.

My take: This guy can ***** all he wants.....her certainly has that right.

But his website is VERY SIMILAR in layout to the corporate site and leads to confusion.

Interesting... if only for the site address. Bearing in mind Mercedes tried (unsuccesfully, but succesfully in other instances) to shut down this site for having mercedes in the address you'd think they would try to close this too; especially as it's trying to seem official.

Guess it would be bad publicity trying to close one that describe's it's car's problems.... stupid.
