Rolex Oyster

Bought an interesting Rolex Oyster today it's a 1945 Speed King military style with 4220 case and black face ,runs perfect, good case needs face restored to be perfect ,I will post photos tomorrow. Dose any one no much about this model Rolex..........

or www.chronocentric.com it's a little more Omega oriented but it's worth a try.

Also the if you have the serial number Rolex would likely furnish the origianal Chronometer certificate and build date.

As you can see dial and hands need restoring ,might just wear it as is won't get mugged.......

Here's a link to a great Canadian

Rolex site which now, unfortunately, is no longer in business, but a lot of information still remains.

Rolex was a "cult" watch among Brit fliers and others during WWII...the models often shared little with the "modern" Rolex...many were small "boys" models with stemwind rather than automatic movements.

You have an interesting watch and an interesting heirloom...enjoy.
