MERCEDES P8! Please shut the Ford GT up
I just checked out my auto week and I must say I hope they make the P8 and shut up the Ford with the GT and at least give the Enzo a run Not great looking but a super car is a super car
Anyone else read this? |

The original GT40 was a fabulous car! It did provide the revenge factor that henry the Deuce was seeking.
The remake looks a little long from the rear edge of the door to the rear of the car, but otherwise, not bad. Whats the matter, Benzman500, can't stand the thought of a Ford beating some of the world's finest supercars? Ford has a long, long, proud racing heritage. In fact Mr Ford started with a racecar to get the money to start his first company. |

No I can't stand it. Ford fans won't shut up saying that the Germans and Italians have lost it (or never had). When was the last time you saw a commercial for the Enzo on TV? I have never seen one. The car creates its own hype. The Ford GT ran around 3 commercials during the super bowl. For 140k I want more that A Mach 1 engine and tasteless interior, I do like the look and idea of the GT but the quality IMO will never compare to that of cars like the ENZO.
Leave the Fords, Chevys, and Dodges where the belong on .25 tracks and ovals. After all ford is know for making the car affordable not being a race car driver. Like I said I'm just sick of Ford fan's and them never shutting up about it. |

I agree with you benzman, Ford sucks, bottom line, but I wont butter it up and say good things cause they dont exist when you're talking about chevys/fords.
That thing is super weird, the P8? I heard nothing till you posted but it looks like george jetsons cars gonna have a 3 pointed star on the hood if they keep it up |

Ford has some high points the same as Chevy. The one thing I will give Ford is they know how to keep the prices on the cars down, but then again it results in cars like the Mustang flooding the streets
PS Like I said today was the first time I had ever seen it. It was on the cover of AutoWeek |

Ditto that, I can't think of one exotic owner rushing to get a GT40. My prediction 2 production years and it will be history. Once the wealthy muscleheads have one that will be the end of an era....again. No matter how you slice it it ain't a Ferrari. |

Cap thats what that was for.
Ferrari may hold such a small part of the market because of the fact the super exotics often have hand picked owners. Anyone can get a GT |

I woudn't worry about Ford not selling all the GT's they can make. It's a classic that's been lusted after since the mid 60's and considering the age of the guys that can afford it, it's just the right moment. Now, if they could just convince Porsche to roll out a streetable 917, get Ferrari to dish out some 512's and prehaps a Lola T70 coupe . . . Those were the days . . . monster engines in sleek body shapes, before all the wings and oversized spoilers.

Times change. In the sixties, Fords were junk and GM made cars that were as good at what they did as any in the world. In particular, 1965-66 Cadillacs and Chevy pickups were the best.
Now, GM, IMHO, is irrelevant and Ford is making some OK products. Ford is a long way from matching Honda, Toyota, Subaru, et al., for high quality, affordable transportation, but at least their trucks are good and their performance cars have some personality. I thought the Super Bowl commercials were telling. Ford puts out its GT, which is an admirable effort no matter how you cut it. Meanwhile, GM puts out some goofy thing that goes from a truck to a convertable and is so nifty keen that it makes all the kids say bad words. GM=BS. At least Ford is trying. |
