Whats the deal with the Tiburon???

I've been searching but really find no damn info on the tiburon V6 thats supposedly got the Mercedes V6. Basically, i wanna know if it does and if all the v6's are MB or just some.

I've never heard of this before either, but I test drove a coworkers Tiburon from '99, and they definitely need something!

The Tiburon is one of those weird cars that aren't really "ricers" but are just weird, like the Mercury Cougar and the last gen Celica. Way too many weird shapes for their own sake.

Didn't Kia have an arrangement with Lotus to manufacture the Elan from the late 80's, early 90's with a different name? They only sold them in Asia, I think.

I doubt that there is any truth to this at all. Probably someone just made up a fictitious story.

They would not have bought the rights to produce an old Mercedes V6, the M112 was the first V6 by MB and is slated for at least another 2 years of production before the new generation of V6s is introduced in the SLK in 2005.

Yea, they did. I liked it, but never saw one in the states. It was named the "Elan." :p

What a crazy car that would have been, Lotus body, Izuzu engine, Kia badges.

I don't know about the GT version but older Mercedes used v6 motors that they could use?
A friend has a 4cyl Tiburon my god they are slow and get bad mileage. The 533 destroyed his low and and high end. I found the interior to look real good untill you feel the quality and sit right on the ground when in the cab. Oh ya that brand new Tiburon has gone back to the dealer 7 times for warrenty repairs

My wife's Hyundai Elantra has about 13,000 miles and has never been to the dealer. Nothing, absolutely nothing has gone wrong. However, my '82 240D is more comfortable, stable, solid........etc.
