My company has a new customer. A little company called 'Mercedes Benz'!!
The company I work for has just acquired the lighting contract for the new assembly line in Vance Al. We will provide 2,060 eight foot fluorescent light fixtures for the new assembly line. Mercedes engineers required a level of illumination that our competitors could not provide. We will also supply additional lighting in other areas of the plant. Hmmmmn... I wonder if we'll get vendor discounts........Or, if the quality of the ML goes down I'm sure there are those that will blame it on ME!!

Good job! BTW, do you know when they'll be finished with construction/re-tooling (I'd like to schedule a plant tour of the new place after they're done.)

Make it 3000 lumens! Maybe, just maybe, it will help to improve the MB quality

So what is it to be: tweak the ballasts to explode, give them the stuff that has a 83% failure rate, or just mercilessly over charge them and blame it all on the OVP? Or all the above?

May I suggest that you good folks offer to provide a little 'extra' lighting for their design studios--clearly they ain't seeing what I'm seeing: mediocrity

How about suggesting that Mercedes increase the instrument lighting---and offer a free retrofit in their W123 models?

And all the hvac controls are vacuum based systems. Wonder if they will use environmentally correct insulation on all of the wiring?
You can bet the a/c and lighting control system in that building will be hands down better than the cumbersome electronics in the cars .

Next on the "to do" list:
Figure out how many individual parts make up a ML. Once you have that number you will have the minimum number of "service" trips you'll need to make to check on the...uhmm...lighting conditions. Then you can live the Cap'n's version of Johnny Cash's "One Piece At A Time".
