Cool How do you find the time?

Just curious -- how is it that so many folks seem to have all this free time on their hands to post? I'm in the business, so I'm on a computer with Mercedes on the brain all day long anyways. What's your excuse?

Tabbed Browsing, I do research for work on the computer and often rant while talking on the phone.

I do alot of tedius(sp?) documenting at my computer at work. This is my way to make it thru the boring hours. Some days I actually get to do some interesting work, and my posting drops way off.

Can't wait to move and change jobs. You'll hear alot less from me then(probably much to the relief of some of you)

I surf and post between compiling...and during lulls at work.

From the time I stopped looking for illegal weapons in a neighborhood across town, I found that I had a lot of time freed up. Business is slow right now, so I had to lay off quite a few people, even outsourced some, but despite being up to my eyeballs in debt, I plan to pay a portion of my employee's taxes and try to make that permanent, too. This could be tough, but I'm sure my kids will be able to sort out this mess, after all I've been sending them to a great school. I guess it's a great school since I don't have to give them any money for books, field trips, teacher's salaries, anything! I have a lot more time since my old friends don't seem to stop by as often. They're still mad over the mess I made during the weapons search. Oh well, now I have to install some security systems and go hire some security folks to make sure my house doesn't get burned down . . .

I'm still looking for a job in this wonderful economy. So between being a house-husband, I sit my fat arse on the 'puter.

So if anyone's got any leads...

When I'm working at the office or at home, I always have the shop forum running in the background, and check up on the activity during lulls in the day and when I'm on the phone.

When I'm traveling around the country, which is 2-3 times / month, I log on at airport terminals and in my hotel room.

I spend lots of time on-line doing research as part of my freelance writing and grad studies, so I usually have MB-Shop tucked away in a window ready to provide a quick diversion.

I've been doing research on "Stranger Danger" and reality of child abduction versus perception, and while it's pretty interesting stuff, I need a break once in a while. This is a polarized issue.

With respect to school, I'm working on systemic racism in public schools and a great deal of the reading is tedious, so I pop open my MB-Shop window every once in a while.

In the 'ol days we called it "slacking off for a moment" and now it's "multi-tasking."

I work at home most days so I can have the forum running in the background. Plus this beats the hell out of working

You should start a thread on the topic one of these days and clue us in. It does sound interesting.

Computer chugs away on mapping problems and I twiddle my thumbs. It used to take days on the 486! Now I let it rip for a couple of hours and then spend a lot of time on QA/QC. While its processing I sharpen pencils, make coffee, read and argue with V&Z.
