Thief on E-bay
About amonth ago our golf shop was broken into and the perp got away with $6800 (wholesale) of merchadise. Yesterday we got an Email from a fellow who bought a set of irons on e-bay that had our courses name 'electretched' on them. The detectives are in persuit. I am keeping the name of our course and the seller's I.D. anonymis until the investigation is over. We had been searching Ebay for the goods but there is just to much equipment to search.
The buyer said he was surprised when he opened the box and saw the lettering. He searched the net and sent e-mails to all matching names. He also is willing to work with every one involved to nab this guy, who hit about 4 other courses in the area. The perp has about 3 pages of goods for sale on e-bay. We may get lucky because of this honest soul and get one DUMB crook of the streets thebern

Hope you let the guy keep the goods he bought from the thief, in good faith, and before doing you a most excellent favor. Or something valuable from you that he'll have to remind him of his righteous deed.

Concur with you on that B.
Might even be worth reimbursing him for what he paid the slimeball for these clubs. Makes for goodwill to the nth degree.

Has eBay closed the items yet? I've heard they move pretty slow when it comes to that kind of stuff.

not that I know of. The details are being handled by my boss, the head pro. The detective handling the case was here yesterday and it is in the works with ebay to nail him. thebern
