One year ticketless. I'm trying
Well it has been a year. I still speed but try to fight the urge as much as possible. Hey I even get passed on I4 now doing 70 in the left lane Just wanted to keep everyone up date, I'm proud of it. (as a knock on wood)

That's great. Your insurance rates and gasoline costs should both go down.

Insurance rates go down after 3 years ticketless. One down -- two to go!

my insurance won't drop till I turn 22 and then again at 24. I need to stay clean for at least three years because I only have 3 classes left for my life in Florida

Maybe you should switch from MMMMMM BEER to MMMMMM DRUGS. They can't smell drugs on your breath.

Buy a diesel.
Fixit tickets for excessive smoke aren't held against your record.

Dan, here's all you have to do:
Add up all the extra expense from increased insurance plus fines and court costs from the tickets. That is the total amount you could spend on a nicer/newer car. I you remain ticketless, it's like getting a tax-free salary increase Would you rather have the cash in your pocket or pay the insurance company? |

I am also nearing the 1 year mark since my last ticket. Got one in the SL shortly after I bought it and it was a good wakeup call. Have been a very good boy since, but I do have a history of speeding and can't begin to count the tickets over the years. One thing I do is spread them out over a longer period of time, so it has never been a problem with my insurance or amassing a great deal of points that will put my license in fear of being yanked. I'm 58 which proves that not only the younger generation does dumb things behind the wheel. I have probably talked my way out of the same number of tickets I have gotten.
