Chrysler Mercedes rip off

Am I the only one who has noticed the design similarity between the new Chrysler 300 and the W126 Mercedes???

What is with these new designs and the small windows? Pretty soon cars will look like tanks and only have little peep holes.

Actually, I think it looks like a copy of the Rolls Royce Phantom...

Front & rear suspension designs, 5speed auto (only w/ the HEMI - the V6 models use 4speed Chrysler trannies), and the eventual AWD system are taken from the E-Class.

I test drove the mid-line model (no hemi's available) and was pretty impressed. Quite big inside, good ride: compliant but not soft w/ good body motion control. Good throttle response. The brakes are MUCH more linear than in the E-Class (not electrohydraulic I guess), and decently stong.

I don't see it... but they definitely SHOULD use some design cues from the mother...

Off topic, but wow that W126 looks good with clear corners! I think mine will be getting a set soon.

I love the 300C :-D

It looks even more amazing in real life. I'd take it for $35k over a 3-series or C-Class.

Definitely a lot more room than the 3 or the C. The 300C even has a "cylinder deactiviation" mode under light load, basically inactivating half of the pushrods but keeping the affected cylinders warm.....sounds cool, but I just hope Chrysler's Dev't. engineers did their jobs well; I'd probably wait a year or two to hear what the early adopters are having problems with. It's definitely a good buy @ $35k, but the dealer I took my test drive at was trying to mark it up another $8k!

With that "cylinder deactiviation" mode they had better tell the owners to keep there oil clean.

I saw one stranded on the side of the beltway around here. Maybe they deactivated too many cylinders.
