Gives a somewhat crude cost per mile number that you can compare against other leases.

When looking at the mileage limits, though, remember that you can usually bump the limit (from 12k annually to 15k) at minimal extra cost; ask the dealer (though this is less likely with subsidized package deals like this one). Also remember that extra miles are probably cheaper than the ones you're paying for up front. If the mileage limit is 1,000/month at $285 plus, say, $80 down ($2k allocated across 24 months), you're paying about 37 cents a mile, plus tax. If incremental miles are the usual 15 to 25 cents (no sales tax), it pays you to drive the hell out of the thing, since you're likely to stay well within warranty limits on a 24 month lease.
I did the math for a friend once who leased an A8 at about $750/month with 1,000 miles and was touchy about exceeding his mileage limit. Since each "overline" mile cost 1/4 what the base miles did, he proceeded to pile on the miles.
