Not a good week

I guess I am the second person this week to have someone they know die. My friend called me and told me one of my friends just died. I went with him to middle school, high school, and even worked with him at my first ever job. He also branded me a nickname which I lived with through high school. Over all, he was a really good guy... funny.... damn, I just can't believe it. He's the first person to die from my high school class outside graduation... 3 others have died prior to graduation.

They had news about his death on the news here... it was a really crazy accident. I guess he passed out at the seat with 2 other occupants and steered his car into the Scioto River They managed to pull him out, but died not long ago at the hospital.

Damn it. But what are we supposed to do anyway? It just goes to show, we are mortals after all.

My condolences, Snibbs. If you really knew Billy well, then that feeling of disorientation never really completely vanishes. Its puzzling how the human physche deals with death. I mean, as I said earlier, we will all die someday.

Death is a logical, inevitable barrier which we must breach sooner or later.

Yep. As you enter the realm of old fart-dom you'll have increasing opportunity to bury friends and loved ones. It never ceases to hurt, it just piles on.

Best wishes for you and my condolences.

VERY true!

And short of accidental deaths, you get a peculiar feeling about your own fragile existence when you hear and read about others your age dying of "natural causes" or disease.

But despite the increasing frequency of friends and family members passing away, you never get numb to the deaths in general.

My condolences as well...hang in there! And hopefully, the loss of someone's life you encourage you to live yours a bit more fervently...

...and don't forget to tell those close to you how much you love them...that is probably the most prevalent "I wish I had" statement made by those who lose someone unexpectedly...

Snibble,

Sorry to read of your friend’s passing. When a friend passes away, a bit of oneself passes with them.

Thanks everyone for yor kind words... Friday is the memorial. i've never been to a funeral or a memorial ever. This is something new to me. The cause of death is yet undetermined I think... but I have a feeling what it is. I just don't know how he could have fainted like that.
