Dang...calling him "brave" would be a vast understatement.
That's one trend I really dislike...the fact that it seems like many people are taking out their opposition to the war on the troops who are over there fighting it. This happened in Vietnam, and it's happening here as well. I was under the impression that serving our country was supposed to be an honor, and that respect should be held for those people who are out in the meat grinder. Seems like there are quite a few people out there who either have forgotten this or don't care. It shouldn't matter whether you agree with the fact that we're there or not. It's not the troops' decision to invade...they're following orders, and unlike the group in that prison, the order to invade
was lawful.
It really is sad that Mr. Chontosh will not receive any more recognition for his brave act than what he's been given, although he may see that as a blessing. The media really does need to look at where their priorities are...they're too interested in "a juicy story" and not interested enough in fully reporting events.
BTW, this is coming from someone who
doesn't support President Bush...
