Nfl?
Anyone like pro football?
against my will and better judgement I have been slowly seeping into the family trap of fan-hood. Much as I don't wish to admit it, I'm slowly becoming my father and my grandfather on Sunday afternoons in the fall. Unlike the both of them, I'm able to enjoy the remainder of the day if my team 'stinks' or are 'terrible' during the game. Growing up, I knew that I better have my homework done just in 'case the Steelers lost the game on Sunday... or else I'd be chased up the steps to finish it by my crabby dad. Usually he's reasonable, so the odd sunday loss/crabbiness wasn't so bad. But I still hesitate to call him after a bad game because he just can't keep himself from lashing out in all directions. Now, if the Steelers are losing, I can go out and play with the diesels... or walk the dog... but, I do have the desire to watch every game. This year, I even paid attention to the draft... it's a downward spiral... anyone else similarly afflicted? -k

I like the Raiders.... but... its going to be a while untill I will be happy again as a Raider fan. I know your feeling, when they lose or you know they;re going to lose..... you do something else.

djugurba, you are coming along nicely. I'm an advanced case. I have Sunday ticket so I watch the Raiders and bits and pieces of every other game. I play in 4-5 fantasy football leagues. I watch the NFL channel darn near everyday. I watch all the NFL Europe games (anyone else notice all the players doing well in Europe are Patriots?) that come on and Arena when I can. I'm looking forward to seeing most of the preseason games on the NFL channel this year too. Duncan |

Chiefs fan here I'm always amazed how few football fans are on the board.
I was hooked on it non stop when I was little and then we stopped going to the games and moved to Florida where you never will see a game unless its against the Jags, Bucs, or Fins. I'm still a die hard Cornhusker I listen to the games on the online radio whenever I'm at home There is nothing wrong with being hooked on football it's a great sport. |

Fantasy Football got me started. Can't stop now
BRONCOS are of course the best team although I'm a little irritated about losing Portis to the skins. And since I'm a Broncos fan, then I'm automatically against Duncan and Snibble. Raiders suck! You guys play fantasy football? If not stay away. Its addictive liek smoking. |

Right now, I would have to say the Pats are the class of the league. From my point of view they are the best run team in the NFL. They just win with mostly average players. I think fantasy football has trained me to watch players more and not teams. I try to keep my feelings about liking/disliking a team out of picking players. I feel my knowledge of the league has gone up greatly. This is the first year in a long time I really have no feel for how the Raiders are going to do. Complete team retools can have mixed results. Only the season will tell. Duncan |

I didn't know Bronco fans were all dems!?!?
Anyhow, it wasn't much fun hating the Raiders last year just because they were doing so poorly, but it was a hell of a lot better than when Gannon was making them look like buffoons 2 years ago.. Ouch! What'd he throw? It was something like 22 consecutive completions. The held was held low that day. I try and keep team loyalty out of it when it comes to fantasy football, but it isn't that easy. Living in DC its been kinda hard not to think that the Redskins may finally be somebody this year with Gibbs back. I'm very interested in how they'll do. Also very curious how Parcells 2nd year with the boys shapes up. They may continue to surprise this year. |

Just when I thought the Chargers would never win a game again, the Giants screwed us. Obviously we need to see how that pans out but IMHO the Chumpsters will be trouble in a few years. Hell, for what the Giants gave up they may have been able to get friggin Peyton. There is a strong chance the Chumpsters will have 2 picks in the top 5 next year. 3+ months until the season starts. |

Howdy All,
Been a Colts fan since the early 60s. But I don't go out of my way to watch any games. If I have som four wheeling to do or take the dogs out running that will win out. The dogs running season is from the end of Oct. to the end of Jan.

I like the Colts but what a heart attack... just like the Pacers. Damn, they blew it tonight.
Colts do it too and they had some nice trades over the years. |
