Actually, beer saved me from drugs. People at parties would show me those little brown bottles or green baggies for a hundred bucks, and all I could think of was cold Coors stacked to the ceiling. There was no way I was going to give up that much beer for that ****.

That's funny -- I thought drugs saved me from beer......

Tried pot a few times, makes me too sleepy. Nothing else. Really.

Now scotch on the other hand, I am quite familiar with.

I was always scared of cocaine,pills etc... never wanted to take a chance and get hooked.

I would be the first to agree that alcohol is the worst drug of all. I gave it up about 14 yrs ago when a drunk driver killed two of my childhood friends and put another one in a wheelchair for life. One of the ones who got killed was going to marry the guy who ended up in the wheelchair the next day. The other one who got killed was going to be the best man. I knew him literally from the sandbox. They were coming back from their wedding rehersal. The drunk was fleeing the police and hit them as they crossed an intersection, at 100 mph. He did two years in jail.
He created two orphan children and the saddest man I know.

I can't even stand to look at the stuff anymore. It was the most grief stricken set of funerals I have ever attended. There's probably a lot of funny stories to tell about booze and drugs, but I think the truth about them is no fun at all.

As one with a wide breadth of experience in the field, I wouldn't necessarily say that alcohol is the worst drug, but it's certainly a lot closer to the top than the bottom. As with all things moderation is the key.

I am assuming that alcohol kills more of our citizenry, and innocents like Kirk pointed out, than any other single drug or even perhaps all other drugs combined. It begs the question. Why is it not illegal? Hmmm, I think I know the answer.

Pot and alcohol are the only two drugs (and caffeine) that I will ever use. Never going to try anything involving a pill, needle, powder, crackpipe, etc... or for that matter cigarettes.

I had a lot tougher time quiting those GD cigs than I did quiting THC-containing condiments.
