As for doing things I love.... I wanted to do the mechanic thing but changed my mind as there is very little money in most of the area's. Plus if I start into it as a field I will lose it as a hobby and I really do not want that.
I also like marketing so I think I may try for a minor in that as well.
tkamiya next time I have a chance to I will IM you. Not ignoring you just real short on time at the moment
thanks again

There isn't much left in terms of IS "mystique" these days, now that the average staffer can maintain a system (thanks to technology). So the MIS degree I feel, has gone the way of the dinosaur.

I had gotten an AA in Computer Science in a local community college prior to my leap into a large university. There I got my BS in Computer Science and minored in Mathmatical Systems.

Pursued and completed my MBA a few years afterwards. All this was before on-line courses and such...

As others here stated, there is a lot of outsourcing going on, but many companies are going to realize their mistakes before the end of the decade. There is no substitute for subject-matter experience.

But unless you get into an opportunity to develop leading-edge technology, the IS community is already bloated with C++ and Java jockeys...
