invite or don't invite
 

Just wondering what the reaction would be to this question? Would you tell people to come and live in your city or don't you want any more people to live there so that your city won't get any bigger and have big city problems?

im more accustomed to inviting people to leave, especially people who have the blue license plates and usually dirty snow covered cars...and drive like complete morons


i like the idea of small town living with a big city nearby so i can easily get the things i need, like just about any part for my car....or quiznos....mmmmmm, quiznos

Seriously, Denver is pretty crowded with people like me who moved here in the last 5 years but now that local economy went south and people are leaving, I think the locals are starting to prefer the influx of people and their money.

Come on down. No use of trying to revert the trend.
Yup, it's kinda like that here and we actually have all 4 seasons.
Over all it's a pretty good here, sans mtns. :cool:

I would not invite anyone to Ohio.. this place is the white trash capital of the world.... well, maybe not that bad.. but areas down south are pretty bad:eek:

Canton has one good feature about it..... FOOTBALL. Unless you like football, I don't know what else is fun to do up there.

Looking for opportunity? Move to New York or Los Angeles. Nothing here. Too quiet and too much partying and dancing and fishing and hunting. People would rather have fun than work. Backword bunch of yokels. Don't come here, you wouldn't like it.

I would never invite anyone to live in Houston. It is the epitomy of what is wrong with this country. The out of control urban sprawl, the incredible air and water pollution, the superfund sites down the street, the crooked bastards who run the oil refinerys and "accidently" discharge or intentionally under-report discharges, the crooked bastard politicians of both parties who run the place, neighborhoods that are war zones, cops getting killed like clock work every week or so, the whores, the gangs, the crack head squigee guys, the crazy drivers, the women who drown their kids and run over their husbands, the crazy bastard who cut off his neighbors head, carried it around in a duffle bag, got caught red handed throwing it into Galveston Bay, then gets found innocent and walks, the 3 million mexicans, the crooks that hire them, you can have all of it. The day I hit 65, I'm outta here.

I wouldn't invite anyone to live in this area; I'd warn them away! The cost of living's insane, there's still unemployment and underemployment on a larger scale than the national average, and the traffic is absolutely rediculous.

If nothing replaces the computer boom (which in turn replaced the aerospace boom in the '60's through the '80's) in a few years, I'll bet this region becomes a ghost town...

I know of quite a few people who have left due to the cost of living and the inability to find work, and I will be following suit after I'm done with school.

Actually I wouldn't be living in Canton. I lived 10 years in Las Vegas, NV. Now there is where I would be today.

I work over seas for Halliburton and any city will do because I'm home only 10 days every 4 months.

I just wanted to see what other people thought of their town.

Inviting people to leave Cleveland seems to have worked.........born and raised in Delaware Ohio ,still have the family farm there just annexed into city of Delaware........

I invite everyone to come to El Mirage,California because I have NOOOOOOOOO fear about anyone moving here:D We may be in Cal. but you wouldn't know it. Victorville is the closest city to us with about 70,000 people. The houses there are about half as much as down in L.A. which is 90 miles away. But if I ever get the chance I will move to southeast Arizona or New Mexico. Until then I'll work on my second 20 years here :cool:

I would invite people here (Kansas City, MO), but not too many, and definitely no more attorneys. I think Kansas City has a good mix of things in a smaller city. Good quality of life, low stress, easy living, access to quality cultural experiences and institutions, cool people, great restaraunts, and four seasons.

Some cities require you to adopt the new hobby called "living in ____". I allways end up in long conversations with people from Chicago, for instance, about how what I call the administrative side of life takes up way too much of the life part, but in other words. I never want to live in a big city again, even though the women were way cooler as I remember. Of course, I was probably way cooler then, too!

Best place I ever lived was Los Alamos, N.M. Should have never left. I saw the other day where it was picked in the top five best places to live. All of northern NM is outstanding.
