the draft is coming back, for our kids

It seems there is a plan in place to begin to register all people[ men + women] for the selective service. I read it won't happen untill after the fall elections, 18 to 26 year olds !!!! takes me back to high school, 1969. Also, there won't be any education deferments, so no matter how much $$$ you have, it will effect all our kids. The thought makes me sick to my stomach. Any thoughs from the group. steve 83sd

For the same funds they'd use to enforce the draft and process all the extra paperwork, I bet they could offer some super-good incentives (higher education funds, sign-up bonuses, etc) and get the same number of people into the military.

The law saying you have to register for the draft has never been repealed. Its not really being enforced right now, but all 18 yearolds are required by law to register.

Don't worry. Bush is going to keep them in until they're 70 and drag every N.G. , C.G. and resevist into the army he can get his hands on. Its a "volunteer" army.
