I took a bunch of those at Tybee Island last Sunday, but I don't think they're appropriate for this forum and I hope my wife don't see them either!!

Ah, there is only one area in the US with truly sugar white sands. What part of the Florida panhandle are you visiting?

Mexico Beach, Florida, aka, "The Forgotten Coast", located in the panhandle 38 miles east of Panama City Beach, and just a couple of miles from St. Joe State Park, which has consistently rated in the top five beaches in the U.S. according to the "Dr. Beach Report". I could'nt care less for all that hype. It's a beautiful place with some damn fine people and no high rises or tourist traps. Kind of like Gum Swamp, except with a beach!!!

That is a beautiful area. Ever been to that Oyster bar in Appalachicola? What's its name, on the river?

Gibson House, maybe? I visited Appalachacola by accident for several days. Flying in a Cessna 185 with straight floats and stopped there for gas (the airport will bring the fuel truck to a dock). We got hammered by bad weather between there and NOLA. Would've had to fly to Atlanta to get around and finding places that take seaplanes in the Piedmont didn't sound like a great bet.

Mexico beach is very nice and is kind of the last frontier of development in Florida. The sand is much softer on Pensacola beach than Mexico Beach but the sand is super white in both places. Enjoy and have a great time.

Take a deep sea fishing trip if you can. The fish have been tearin' it up! One of my friends caught a 40 pound redfish last weekend. The snapper and amberjack's have also been biting really well too!

While you are there, you would be missing out if you didn't drive to Seaside for dinner at least one night. Seaside has the best restaurants in the Panhandle but they can be a little pricey.
