Boy Not Allowed To Bring Porn Star To Prom

Another childhood dream crushed.....

WESTON, Conn. -- Max Miesel didn't get very far with his prom date -- who's a porn star.

Max won a date with adult film actress Tyler Faith on Howard Stern's show Friday. Max is a student at Connecticut's Weston High School. The Advocate of Stamford, Conn., reported school officials and Max's parents stepped in before Saturday's prom.

Max said his dream was to take a porn star to the dance. But it was a dream unfulfilled.

Weston High Principal Mary Kolek says a date with a porn star violates the school's prom guidelines. Kolek said Max would be allowed to attend -- with a more appropriate date.

What school has a guideline that says... "no pornstars allowed at prom"?

Ok, tell the truth. How many of you turned your prom dates into porn stars?

Why is every porn "actor/actress" a "star"? No costars or supporting roles?

Being a porn actor/actress is just a profession. Albeit one that many people would have a problem with but none-the-less a legal profession. Therefore, how can a school say that one can not bring a date to a prom based on their profession? It sounds like an infringement of rights.

Can someone smell lawsuit coming?

I don't know about that... this past week at my university, there was the anual "Hempfest". The University wanted to stop this event from occuring, however, it was taken to the state court and the court says that the event can take place. The Univeristy is a public school.. the high school might be public as well, if thats the case.. he could take his case to court.

I believe (but not sure) that HS has lower constitutional protection than university. Perhaps on the assumption that high schoolers are mostly minors and university is mostly adults (at least age-wise)? For example, I think that speech in HS papers is not as protected as in public or university.

Back to the subject for a second. Can you imagine the lifetime coup that guy has among his friends? They will be in awe of him until death.

The boy in this case could be a senior... meaning 18 years of age.. legally an adult. So it could take that "minor" role out. BTW.. i never heard of a high school having more saying than a university or vice versa.. I thought its all the same.

Narwhal... care to comment on this law question?

This just happened this past week? If I think, did this not happen last year and did not the student sue the school?

As for what Botnst wrote, he is going to be the envy.... I agree and what a shame that he can not take her as his date. It is his date - it is not like he is taking her to that day where students take their parents to school so that they can explain/teach the students. (though I did come across a few girls in highschool that could have used this lesson!!)

Lastly, there were some girls that showed upto my high school prom that could have been considered for this type of profession so what is the difference?
