resizing photo in Photoshop

I don't use it an my wife's just starting. She has a 180dpi image that's 5MB. She wants to knock it down to something emailable. Changing resolution changes the image size as well. Help.

For Emailing try 100 dpi play with image size and use medium quality in the last box that comes up.I put my photos in catorized folders once in a folder you can click on it and see how many K's you are sending .I often will send a photo to my self to see how it looks before sending it out or posting it..........

Under file, use "save for web."

When you are in "save for web" you can change the file type, quality, and the size. Size can be changed by clicking the 2nd tab next to the color chart.
