Stromberg Carburetors

Hello,

Does anyone know where I can find a list of cars that use the Stromberg 175CD carburetor. I need to find the oil resevoir for one. And the Mercedes (the only one there) in the salvage yard doesn't have one, so I was wondering if there are any other cars that used one.

Thank you,

spencerbandit88

Try Volvos and Saabs through the mid 70s.

Unfortunately, Mercedes used the German Stromberg with the large ivory colored oil reservoir. The others used the British Stromberg, with a small black cap where oil was added directly into the diaphragm cover. Try MercedesShop, or the reservoir assy should still be availible from Mercedes.

Dang, there is not much for a used Mercedes parts location near me. But the salvage yard here in town has a LOT of imports.

Well thank you anyways.

One thing about those Stromberg damper reservoirs, they get brittle with age and a used one would likely be ready to break off anyway. A couple years back, A friend got a new one for his '72 220, from our local Mercedes dealer. I think it cost about $80.
