Furnace, A/C recommendation?
OK, I know it's the middle of summer. But at the end of last winter I vowed it was time to replace my furnace / air handler / A/C unit.
I have a 13 year old propane fired unit which is fully condensing, but it has needed repairs almost every year and now the drip pan for the A/C coils is rusted through, which is about the last straw. Anyone have any recommendations for brand names of quality equipment? I have a combined furnace, blower, and A/C unit in my basement, about 115 KBTU. Compressor and fan, etc. located outside, which, by the way, seem to be fine. Don't want a heat pump. TIA for any advice! Rgds, Chris W. trying to be ahead of the game for once... |

If you get on some of the HVAC contractor sites, the brand mentioned most often as "the killer app" is Trane. Its also been discussed that a good installer can make a lousy piece of equipment work better than the best piece of equipment in the hands of an amateur.
