Its no wonder I work in the field of statistics. I do it because it benefits at least 50% of the human race, 47% of the time.

Now you guys know i am going to make a post on dating :-)

Usually I ask the date how much i should pay and add a couple dollars ontop of it. Why?

1) I am bad at math, calculating 15% or 20% or whatever is not good unless the bill is right at $100.

2) I get to test HER character. Reverse psychology. I have met some cheapskate dates and some generous ones. It takes them by suprise when i ask too.

3) I almost always add a couple dollars ontop of what she suggests to show generosity.

If you cannot afford $7 or whatever the tip is, you dont need to be dating.... What do you all think about my idea?

I'm too much of a newbie to do anything more than read in the car forums (bought my first MB, an 85 300D, literally yesterday), but I'm no noob when it comes to dating, so here goes.

Tips for the Dating Man:

(1) When asking a woman out on a date, have an activity, a date, and a time in mind, and ask in this way: "Hi, ___, would you like to go to _____ with me Friday evening?" Don't pull the 'Umm, I dunno, what do you wanna do' thing on an early date, it makes you seem uninterested and indecisive.

(2) She is going to spend a lot of time getting pretty for you, so spend a little time getting cleaned up for her. Dress well, Smell good. Brush your hair. Shave.

(3) If your date or GF ever mentions brushing your teeth, or suggests it, or mentions she is going to brush hers, brush your teeth. She is trying to tell you you need to.

(4) Don't talk about your evil exes on your date. Don't refer to your ex-wife as 'that *****'. She does not want to hear about your exes. She will also think you're stuck on your ex(es).

(5) Be polite. To everybody. Don't interrupt. And tip reasonably :)

(6) Don't just talk about yourself. Aim for a mix: talk about yourself a third of the time, ask her about herself at least half of the time.

(7) Clean up after yourself. I don't know any women who enjoy cleaning up after other people or who feel they have some predilection for maid work. They do it because it needs to be done, not because they have a higher calling. So give a little respect and clean up your own messes.

(8) Don't poormouth (talk about your money problems) because she will feel uncomfortable and wonder if you're begrudging any date-paying you're doing. If you're poor, work longer/harder and select cheap dating activities.

(9) Don't assume you know anything about your date just because she is female. Are you like every other guy? No? She isn't like every other girl. Try to stay away from assumptions, and just treat her as you would treat any human being you like.

(10) Don't play any 'wait three days after a date before calling' games. Play it straight, and call (or don't call) when you feel like it. Avoid women who engage in weird dating games; don't reward the behavior if you don't like it.
