question for the ladies or guys wirg wives or gfs

well, with all these posts about dating and relationships, I thought I'd throw one in myself. I know there aren't too many ladies here, but I'd appreciate their input, also the input of guys who may know a bit more about what women like. okay, here's the question. what's the consensus on writing poetry for a girl you like? I mean, do girls really love it when guys write a poem for them? do they melt and become smitten by you right away? or am I naive to think that because all girls these days just want is something tangible. thanks.

Being an old married fart in his late 40's, I'd have to say it may depend on the generation your dealing with. My wife would love it. But the younger crowd I'm not so sure about.

If you give her a poem you wrote from the heart and you find that she really wanted something material instead, dump her!

I've tried writing poetry but was always too embarrased to send it so I tore it up. I don't think it was very good. Nothing ever lasted anyway between me and the intended recipients. In hindsight I should have. Nothing ventured nothing gained, so... bottle up your courage young man! Write her a poem, deliver it to her nestled among a dozen roses!

If a man writes a poem, but doesn't have a wife, is he still wrong?:D
