Has issue from 2000 election been settled?
Not that issue---
But what about the issue of absentee ballots from military APO? If I remember correctly, the dems sucessfully had many milatary ballots not counted because of the lack of postmark. This is odd because military mail does not customarily have a post mark. This seems like a great disservice to our military, regardless of your political leanings. The question is NOT to rehash the 2000 election, but to discover if this situation has ever been resolved. Are we destined to repeat it this year, or has it been fixed? Does anyone KNOW? |

OK, I take it from the lack of responses that this won't become an issue until after ther election. Then each side will compute how it affects them and then issue statements on the "right" and wrong of it.
Why can't we know the rules before? Why does it always seem that every issue has to be a political calculation? Or is it OK to steal the votes of those in uniform? Call me cynical! |

It was as you describe it when I voted on a ship over thirty years ago. I guess they've got a long-term study underway.

A commitee has been organized to study whether to form a group to pick a bipartisan commision to research if the problem still exists.
