I was wondering about this.....

There has been a lot of crazy talk from some rather deranged people lately about Impeaching the President. The source of this nonsense has, for some odd reason, been linked to Republicans.

I have never been able to figure this out. Apparently neither has our current Speaker of the House. So today he set out to quash this rumor.

After all, when has anything negative ever taken place when a Republican says, "We have no plans to......"

People talking about it the most are fundraisers in the White House keeping it going.

One of our Senators, Tom Coburn, used to speak of it a great deal. He was full of tales of back room deals and impending doom via impeachment for Obama.

And a few of the Texas House members have been going on about this for the last three or four years.

And the Republican Whip in the House said it was a real deal last week.

And yet it is now the White House that is behind it? For all these years?

Well, thanks for clearing that up!

The White House was not behind it. But they are happy to keep it going. The fund raising for a off cycle election is incredible. Keep it up RWNJ's

We Know Where It Started.

Palin is hardly the first GOP politician to raise the issue of impeachment over the past couple years. Others include Sens. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Reps. Blake Farenthold (R-Tex.), Kerry Bentivolio (R-Mich.), Michael Burgess (R-Tex.) and Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), former congressmen Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) and Allen West (R-Fla.), and the South Dakota Republican Party. Not all of these folks called for Obama's impeachment directly, but all of them suggested that it is or should be on the table.

The Speaker still hasn't mastered the art of herding cats . . .

NYT predicts 60% chance of taking the Senate......they running scared....

Talk of impeachment was cooked up by a White House desperate for something to rally Democrats ahead of November’s elections, House Speaker John A. Boehner said Tuesday, flatly ruling out any action on the controversial suggestion.

Democrats have acknowledged impeachment talk has been good for their fundraising, but also say there’s some fire behind all the smoke. On Tuesday, congressional Democrats circulated a list of GOP candidates and sitting lawmakers who have said they want to see President Obama be impeached.

The right lets it go just enough to keep the hardcore base in a dither. The administration uses it to their advantage as well because they know it'll never happen. It's an easy shot to make their opponents look foolish.
Yeah I know never say never, but I'd bet my best horse on it any day. Not even republicans are that dumb.

Yep. Repos did it before and lost the midterms because of it. But never say never again.

Hardly breaking news . . . that's why Reid isn't going to bring up any controversial Senate bills and Boehner is trying to get his side of the aisle to stfu.

In SoCal if they predict a 60% change of rain, you know you can leave your umbrella at home...

Reid does that all the time even without an election coming.
