Church & State

. California atheist jailed over objections to faith-based recovery gets $2 million settlement | Reuters
Quote:
Barry Hazle Jr., 46, had sued parole officials accusing them of breaching the constitutional separation of church and state, and won the payout after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found last year he was entitled to compensation for time he was unjustly held in prison. Months of negotiations by his lawyers resulted in a settlement of $1 million from the state and $925,000 from Westcare, a company hired by parole officials to provide drug treatment for convicts. Hazle dropped his suit this week because of the settlement. The case highlighted atheists' long-standing objections to the faith-based component of 12-step recovery programs originally promoted by Alcoholics Anonymous. California prison officials said the state had since changed its policy to allow convicts who object to a 12-step program to attend a secular program instead.

Sad the majority of people in this country are Jesus believing people. So sad when a minority, changes laws, and forces children to learn about Islam. But all of this was foretold, soon christains will face, evil forces, that will behead them over their religon.

Yep, and in this case, no laws were changed and the only religious forcing being done was through the mandatory state sponsored AA program.

Bingo. Religion takes on many forms; some people out there are practicing "statists" worshiping the so-called "state". Which, as you say, forces ITS religion on the people.

I don't know that I would describe it as sad, but certainly it is strange.

Its the food pyramid league. You see, at the captain crunch talks of 2012, it was decided by Islamics and Athiests to assault Christianity through the food pyramid.

Hmmm. Must of missed that meeting. I have always tried to feed all the Christians I know only processed food. Must work harder at this.

As for the OP, I am glad that people are having a bit of luck putting the genie back in the bottle.

you need to get more of your information from twatter. I missed the meeting too, but only because I was at the Athiests and Kali worshippers afternoon tea party.

We have to get out there and find programs with a compulsory religious content. The apparently pay a two million dollar side benefit.
