I read a great book on John Adams a few years ago. I can't remember the author right now but I do remember he is a respected historian.

There was also a great film about him that ran, I think, on HBO.

If you are looking for someone with a lot of personal flaws Adams would do until the real thing comes along.

David McCullough? I think so. I read it too and yes, Adams had his flaws. Also had some good too...a lot of good. Got a little carried away as president and was a one termer.

Yup, that's the book I was thinking of.

I think the best thing that can be said of Adams was that he was a man of his times and did what he needed to do. Some of his actions as President and in his personal life might seem harsh today but back then he had a country to run and it was just as tough a job then as it is today.

Yes. I imagine there was less precedence for him to go by too so they had to make more stuff up as they went along.

I get two of them delivered to my door every morning.

The relevant question for Palin is, has she ever read a newspaper?

She campaigned in WI for Trump. It's a painful 18 min video to watch. It sounds like a very bizarre stream of conscious talk. I counted 1 or 2 times where the audience applauded?

Perhaps she goes away after Trump looses the campaign. How long can someone survive after backing two loosing horses?

In the higher levels of Show-Biz Branson, MO, is described as the place that is full of entertainers you thought had died.

I think Palin wants to stay out there every now and then just so no one will think she has died.

Plus she is currently pitching a new TV show with her as the Star so she needs some publicity. It is rather common these days for a network to run a poll on entertainers pitching a project. The network wants to know if anyone still remembers the Talent in question and if anyone cares about what they have to say. Flunk this poll and it is adios project.

So she needs to let know people she is still alive.
