Nothing would surprise me.

I still maintain that he did not really want to be pres. He obviously had no idea what he was in for.

He's turned it into the ultimate reality show.

Interesting Story. However, it really affected the entire DNC. They hit an all time LOW (again) last evening. Using the term "low" of course. As for the GOP, here are some sobering facts:

Highest # of GOP Governors now, at 34 and counting ...

GOP Control of Senate ...

GOP Control of the House ...

GOP Control of the White House ...

Take a peek at the election map on November 9, 2016 ...

Take a peek at the counties which are "red" and not "blue"

Take a peek at the map now ...

And so many of the S+Fs here on Peachparts type over and over, post and threads, how President Trump and the GOP are just crashing. Where do you get those "facts"? MSM? Yeah, you guys ought to stick with Jimmy K. How long do you think the fake Russian gimmick will last? Do you really think it will cover-up loss after loss? 'Hide' from the world that BHO has been effectively erased? Diminish the fact that all the left wing liberal social progressive causes and agendas are being ground away to nothing? Yeah ... stick to the "comedians" for your ideas ....

I'm probably guilty of confirmation bias, but it's hard to tell if my window glass is flawed with my nose pressed against the windowpane.

To a significant degree I agree with David. We diverge on details.

Trump began running for the same reason as his previous "candidacies". It's free self-promotional advertising. I think late in the primary he came to realize he had a sustainable popularity. He had yuge experience with manipulating public perception by self promotion. He went with what he knew and effectively crippled his Repo opponents by clearly being totally unlike any of them. This convinced many people that he was not part of the "establishment".

The Democrats did their best to elect Trump: Hillary. No American citizen, other than her husband, has more political baggage. Whether she truly is an inept, sickly, malevolent, calculating spawn of Satan or merely the victim of a vast right wing conspiracy, ... DOESNT MATTER. The fact is her baggage sticks to her like cat hair on a wool jacket.

The electorate was faced with a morally challenged, shameless self-promoting, reckless businessman with no political experience or wisdom vs Spawn of Satan.

Spawn of Satan was rejected. Trump didn't win. He was the incedental recipient of Clinton rejection.

What a crock of S.... and what an utter state of denial.

Trump won because folks wanted to hear and implement this message: America First. So sad that the "ingenious" theories keep popping up trying to avoid the obvious. Trump won because 60+ million folks wanted him in office to hopefully put America back on track again, especially after the 8 disasterous years of BHO ..

...as opposed to 63 million who chose Hillary (who happen to live in the wrong places), and 4% who voted third party rather than for DT.

Hillary and Donald were historically unpopular with the voters. They could not inspire a majority of citizens to vote, perhaps the simplest responsibility of citizenship.

Hillary's total executive ineptitude was glaringly obvious in primary machinations and her total inability to convert her corrupt party's political bias and the clearly evident press bias to a win against Trump. Hell, she could barely beat Bernie despite having already rigged the system in her favor. The woman is a total embarrassment to the Democrat Party.

NONE of that converts to love of Trump.

All true, the scary part is how many of the loosing candidates supporters are still willing to fall on a sword for her.

Do the people all live in the wrong places, or did the smartest woman politician on Earth campaign in the wrong places?

I don't believe the election was simply an anti Hilliary knee jerk. There was some of that but there are plenty of people out there who really think Trump is the real deal. No clue how they can be so stupid but they exist and will likely continue to do so. I have them in my own family and for them Trump is as much religion as islam, mormonism and tent revivalism. For that matter as much as feminazi'sm political correctness and their attendent imbecilities are on the left.
Humans are susceptible to demagoguary and charlatnism and the US is no exception. Where reason fails don't be surprised if this idiot has a second term. For that to be avoided he either has to self destruct - definitely possible - or the dems have to do some major pulling of heads out of asses before the next election, of which unfortunately thus far there is no sign.

Wifey keeps asking, how come since early November you have been in such a good mood, smiling, laughing. She thinks I won the Lottery and just not telling her. Just can't tell her it's because her gal lost.

If that's true, that's really pathetic.
